BENTLEY, BRADDOCK, ZEHRING posted by Eric Bentley on Wednesday, April 11, 2001

I am researching the name BENTLEY. My line starts with Isaac BENTLEY m. Montgomery County 11/18/1849 to Elizabeth ZEHRING. They soon moved to Darke County where they had their son Jacob b 12/19/1851 (although they could have moved to Darke county after Jacob was born). Jacob married Sarah Elizabeth BRADDOCK from Preble County. Supposedly they were married in West Manchester 3/18/1875. I have not been able to find a record of this marriage in Preble County. Jacob and Sarah had four children: Florence Elizabeth, Calvin Isaac, Charles Ernest, and Benjamin Franklin BRADDOCK - all born in Castine. It appears that some or all of these people moved back to Dayton around 1900. If you have information on this family, please let me know.

Does anyone know of George LINTON or his parents? I only know that he was born in Ohio on Aug. 12, 1819. I am not sure if Darke County was his place of birth. I do know that he came to live in Washington County before 1841, due to being married in Washington County. Anyone who may know of his parents or anyother information contact me at my e-mail.

RUSH posted by Shirley Rush Genetin on Thursday, April 19, 2001

I am coming to Darke County around May 13 or 14. I would like to know how to access some old tax records. I have been to Salt Lake City and looked at their records up until 1838. I need to look up from then until 1860. I am interested in finding anything about Christopher RUSH who married in 1835 in Darke Co. Are their Tax records in Greenvile or are they in Columbus? Could someone please answer me? I would be very grateful.
